The Gubernatorial Candidate Forum is Monday!

Monday, June 11

6:00 to 8:00 pm.
2810 Golf Road, Pewaukee, WI

I hope many of you will be there.  It promises to be a memorable evening.    Here are a few things you should know:
1.  On the practical side:  The name of the place has changed.  It is no longer the Country Springs.  It is now the Ingleside Hotel.  It is still the same address.  And, nothing else about the venue changes.
When you arrive at the Ingleside, go to the huge parking lot on the east side of the hotel (the far side as you drive in).  Enter directly through the door facing that big parking lot.
The handicap-accessible entrance is on the south side of the building - right by the handicap parking spaces.
2.  The format of the forum will be interesting.  For the first half, the candidates will listen to us.  Some outstanding leaders are prepared to give brief presentations about issues we care about.  At the end of each, they will ask a pointed question, which the candidates can answer "yes", "no" or "undecided."  After they have answered our many questions, the candidates who are present will each have 5 minutes to speak about whatever they wish to speak about.  By the end of the night, we should have a very clear idea of where the candidates stand in relationship to the issues we work on.

3.  Gubernatorial candidates who have confirmed they will be with us are:  Mike McCabe, Kelda Roys, Matt Flynn, Andy Gronik, Kathleen Vinehout, Dana Wachs and Mahlon Mitchell.
Paul Soglin and Tony Evers will not be with us, but have promised written answers to our yes/no questions.
We have repeatedly invited Governor Walker, but have not had a response.  He is still welcome.

4.   Great news!  The Forum will be streamed live on Wisconsin Eye (which is sort of like CSPAN for Wisconsin).  If people cannot attend, please invite them to go towiseye.org/live.  It will be a pretty high quality video and audio.  Wisconsin Eye will also be live streaming it on their Facebook page.  Another great thing about Wisconsin Eye is that it will be archived, so we will have a record of all those answers!

5. Please join us in person if you can, and invite a friend.  Local organizations have either buses or carpools if you want to come that way.  And, if you can't be there in person, check us out on Wisconsin Eye.
6. To by-pass registration on Monday night, email your name, email, phone, address,  and local organization to: wisdomforjustice@gmail.com.
I hope to see you on Monday!
David Liners, WISDOM Lead Organizer
